The Coaches
All V2 coaches share a desire and drive in developing oneself. We believe in learning and maintaining a high standard of delivery. We advocate that:
Scientific knowledge is useless without the skill to effectively apply it
The coaches at V2 are constantly improving their knowledge base by reading and applying methods and information from various sources. These include Strength & Conditioning journals, books and from some of the world’s best Strength Coaches and Gym’s such as Eric Cressey, Dan John, Alwyn Cosgrove, Mike Robertson and Mike Boyle.
Here are a few of the many books V2 would recommend:
- Siff’s Supertraining
- NSCA’s Essentials of Strength Training & Conditioning
- Zatsiorsky’s Science and Practise of Strength Training
- McGill’s Low Back Disorders
- Explosive Lifting for Sports by Harvey Newton
At V2
Greg and Ian develop the fitness professional further beyond any knowledge or course they have completed. They maintain the highest standards of coaching themselves and of their coaches. They pass on to one another experience and periodically assess and evaluate each other’s delivery. Greg and Ian also believe that the coach must not only be able to understand about the science and apply it, but should also experience it themselves.
